Karnaphuli River is a major river in Bangladesh, flowing through the southeastern part of the country. The river is approximately 270 kilometers long and has a drainage basin of about 13,000 square kilometers. It originates in the Lushai Hills of Mizoram in India and flows through Chittagong Hill Tracts and Chittagong city before emptying into the Bay of Bengal.

Karnaphuli River is an important source of water for the people living in its catchment area, and it also supports agriculture, fisheries, and transportation in the region. The river is navigable by large vessels up to Chittagong port, which is the busiest seaport in Bangladesh.

The river is also home to a variety of flora and fauna, including several species of freshwater fish, turtles, and dolphins. However, like many other rivers in Bangladesh, Karnaphuli River is facing environmental degradation due to pollution from industrial and domestic sources. Efforts are being made to address this issue and ensure the sustainability of the river and its resources.
